Recovered the rafter type Polonceau Composed spaced 4.00m, with an approximately equal height 4.60m and winning a span of 19.40m. The support cover made up new metallic pillars.

Framed in the strategy of the Torres Novas City Council to requalify the public space of the historic center of the city, there is an opportunity to intervene in the existing building of the former Clara & Ca. Garage, which was deactivated.With a privileged location, to the west of Plaza 5 de Outubro, this building of such special characteristics and strong memory for the city, emerges as a reference that has been important to promote.In the process of reconversion of the building into a public space, from continuity to Praça 5 de Outubro and connecting to Largo de S. Pedro, it was our understanding to use its characteristics, namely the covered structure of the main garage, to qualify and differentiate the Public space in its relation of complementarity with adjacent public spaces.This intervention strategy allowed the Historical Center to be endowed with different natures of public space, reserving to the latter, through its coverage, the possibility of holding the municipal fairs, artistic and cultural events. | |
